柯嘉敏 Carmen Or

生於香港，柯嘉敏從七歲開始學習國畫。對本地生物多樣性尤其感興趣，畢業於香港大學的生態及生物多樣性學系，獲哲學博士學位，求學時期研究海洋哺乳動物。現時嘉敏從事生態保育之餘，工餘亦持續習畫，希望透過簡潔的國畫描繪野生動植物。
Based in Hong Kong, Carmen has been pursuing Chinese Painting since the age of 7. With a keen interest in the local biodiversity, she majored in Ecology and Biodiversity at the University of Hong Kong and successfully obtained her Ph.D. in marine mammal conservation ecology from HKU. Currently, Carmen works in conservation while refining her artistic skills during her free time. One of her interests lies in capturing the essence of wildlife through the simplicity of Chinese Painting.

中華穿山甲是一種受非法野生動物貿易威脅的極度瀕危物種。儘管牠以中國為家，卻很少在國畫中被描繪出來。
Chinese Pangolin is a critically endangered species threatened by poaching for illegal wildlife trade. Despite living in China as it is named, it is rarely portrayed in Chinese paintings.
